1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
4 ounces sliced brie cheese, no rind
1/2 cup jellied cranberry sauce
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
2 cloves minced garlic
8 ounces ground sausage of your choice
1 tablespoon freshly chopped sage, plus 1 teaspoon
2 teaspoons freshly chopped rosemary
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
2. Thaw the puff pastry according to the package instructions.
3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Add minced garlic, chopped sage, and rosemary. Sauté for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
4. Whisk together the egg and water in a small bowl to create an egg wash.
5. Place the thawed pastry dough on a lightly floured surface and brush it with the egg wash, covering all edges.
6. Spread cranberry sauce evenly over the dough. Layer the sausage on top.
7. Arrange the brie slices on the sausage.
8. Roll up the dough, starting from an end where the brie slices are horizontally oriented.
9. Using a sharp knife, slice the roll with each roll about 1 inch thick.
10. Transfer the slices to prepared baking sheets.
11. Brush the tops and sides of the slices with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle with the remaining sage.
12. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
These Sausage Cranberry Brie Bites perfectly balance the richness of the brie cheese with the sweetness of dried cranberries, while the savory sausage adds a delightful depth of flavor. Whether you're hosting a holiday party, a casual get-together, or simply looking for an easy and impressive appetizer, this recipe will surely be a hit amongst your friends and family. Enjoy!
