In any home, cockroaches can be a constant bother. There are a few natural ways to get rid of these pests without using strong chemicals, which is good news. Here are 12 natural methods that work to get rid of bugs for good.

1. Keep your house clean
Cockroaches are less likely to come into a clean home. Wipe down, mop, and sweep surfaces often, especially in the kitchen and dining room. Keep food in packages that can’t be opened.

2. Fill in holes and cracks
Cockroaches can get into your home through very small gaps. Look for cracks and holes in your home’s walls and floors, especially near doors, windows, and corners. Fill them in with caulk.

3. Mix sugar and baking soda
Sprinkle baking soda and sugar that are equal parts in places where you’ve seen bugs. The sugar makes them want to eat it, and the baking soda kills them naturally.

4. Oils of essential

Some essential oils smell bad to cockroaches. Spray a few drops of peppermint, eucalyptus, or tea tree oil mixed with water around places where you think bugs might be hidden or getting in.

5. Bay Leaves: Bay leaves naturally keep cockroaches away. Bugs like cockroaches will hide in cabinets, boxes, and other places where dried bay leaves are kept.

6. Earth with Diatoms
Place food-grade diatomaceous earth in places where bugs like to hide. It kills them by dehydrating them, but it’s safe for people and dogs.
