Pesky insects: here’s a DIY trap
During the summer season, there is nothing better than enjoying the good weather, taking trips to the sea, going on vacation and taking long walks. However, mosquitoes, flies and gnats can spoil these unforgettable moments. Although mosquito bites are usually the most feared, the buzzing of flies and gnats can be just as annoying, especially when they land on our food. Often, to combat these insects, chemical sprays or electric plate diffusers are used, which can be harmful to the environment and human health, in addition to being expensive. However, there are natural solutions that are based on grandmother’s ancestral remedies, such as the use of wine and apple cider vinegar, which can attract and trap insects in glasses or cups covered with perforated film. This simple and effective solution is definitely worth trying and may surprise you with its effectiveness. In addition, vinegar can be used in many other alternative and useful ways to solve many problems in daily life.
DIY cheating process
Bring two glasses or cups, preferably unused or disposable plastic.
Pour equal parts wine vinegar and apple cider vinegar into the glasses, until they are about one-third full.
Cover the glasses with plastic wrap, securing it tightly to the edges of the glasses with an elastic band or adhesive tape.
Gently pierce the film with a fork or toothpick, creating small holes.
Place the glasses in strategic places in the house where insects are most concentrated, such as near windows, on terraces or in places where you eat.
The insects will be attracted by the smell of the vinegar and will be trapped in the trap without ever being able to get out.
This method is very simple and economical, and does not require the use of chemicals harmful to the environment or human health.
