Two cups (dairy or plant-based) milk
Three huge eggs
One optional natural sweetenerβone tablespoon maple syrup or honey.
One tsp vanilla extract

2. Get ready the Flan Mixture.
In a small saucepan set over medium heat, warm the milk until it is just barely boiling. Take off from the heat.
Whisk together in a large bowl the eggs, orange zest, orange juice, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla essence, and a little of salt.
3. Mix and strain:
Gradually pour the heated milk to the egg mixture, stirring constantly to avoid the eggs from curdling.
To guarantee a smooth texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into yet another basin.
4. Prepare the baking dish.
Get your oven ready at 325Β°F (160Β°C).
Spoon the strained mixture into individual ramekins or a large flan dish.
