What natural products are essential for maintaining your home?
An ecological, natural and very effective product? Exists ! You just need to know these products that Mother Nature offers us for an eco-responsible and effortless home.
1) baking soda
Baking soda is, without a doubt, a key ingredient for home maintenance. And for good reason, this natural disinfectant, descaling and degreasing cleaner has more than one string to its bow. To clean toilets, polish cutlery or whiten tile joints, this multipurpose powder is essential for cleaning the entire house. To prepare your all-purpose cleaner, pour ½ teaspoon of baking soda into a liter of hot water. Mix and go! There’s even a trick to scenting your home with baking soda .
2) white vinegar
Nothing like white vinegar to sanitize all surfaces. This natural home product disinfects deeply thanks to the citric acid it contains. Apply to windows, effectively removes all residue and other limescale. Added to your detergent in the washing machine, it softens clothes and revives colors. Diluted in your cleaning liquid, it deodorizes and cleans deeply.
3) black soap
To clean your floors, linoleum and tiles, liquid black soap is an unstoppable product. This cleaning product helps stain, descale and clean all surfaces in your home. Ideal to replace bleach, this natural antiseptic also allows you to disinfect all spaces.
4) Marseille soap
Marseille soap is a formidable anti-dirt product . Generally used for body hygiene, this product is obtained from the saponification of a mixture of oils with soda, and it also allows you to clean the entire house but not only. For clean clothes, simply prepare your liquid detergent by melting grated Marseille soap in a water bath. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of vinegar to your preparation. You can also add a few drops of essential oil of your choice to scent your clothes.
5) Homemade dishwashing liquid
It is well known that dishwashing liquid is a universal cleaner that cleans all surfaces. But be careful not to use the commercially available one. And for good reason, the latter contains irritating components that could pose risks to sensitive skin. To avoid this damage, it is best to prepare a homemade dishwashing liquid. In a large container, pour two tablespoons of liquid black soap, 2 tablespoons of soda crystals, a few drops of lemon essential oil and two tablespoons of alcohol vinegar. Add ½ liter of hot to lukewarm water and stir until smooth. Fill a bottle with your mixture.
6) soda crystals
Crystal soda is a great ally for cleaning the whole house. Available in drugstores or DIY stores, this all-in-one product helps eliminate bad odors, revive the color of fabrics, prevent the appearance of limescale, degrease surfaces, shine glasses and prevent lime deposits, among other uses.
