How do you care for homegrown ginger?

Planting ginger at home may seem simple, but the most important thing is knowing how to care for it. This plant especially appreciates heat, care must be taken to ensure that it is exposed to the sun daily. Place its pot on a windowsill or near a radiator to allow the plant to absorb heat.
Like most roots and plants, ginger needs regular watering. It is imperative that the substrate remains moist. But dampening does not mean drowning. If you don’t want the ginger to rot too quickly, water it sparingly.
If you are a fan of eco-responsible gestures and compost your organic waste, vermicomposting can be useful for growing ginger. Ginger planted in early spring can benefit from the benefits of vermicomposting in late June. In summer, your pot will be in its place on your windowsill or in your garden. Direct sunlight should still be avoided as it could burn the ginger. You can start enjoying the latter and its vitamins from October by incorporating it into pineapple juice or a thyme and lemon infusion to benefit from its antioxidant, medicinal and stimulant properties that promote digestion and combat bloating.
To give flavor to your dishes and make culinary preparations, it is important to enhance your recipes with fresh aromatic plants and other varieties such as ginger. With this technique and a little ingenuity, you can grow ginger all year round.
