Step 2: Clean the carpet with a stain remover
Use this homemade stain remover to remove stains from your carpet. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with one liter of water.
2. Add ¼ teaspoon white vinegar and gently apply to stain;
3. Avoid over-wetting the area to avoid discoloration.
4. Leave on for 10 minutes.
Third step: dry
Use a clean, absorbent cloth to dry from the outside in. Repeat the process until the stain disappears from the cloth. Then dab with cold water and wipe dry.
To dry, remember to cover the wet area with a 1/2 inch thick layer of cloth or paper towel. Block with a heavy object and change towels as you go.
