It’s not easy to long-term preserve and protect new white clothes in the same way we used to bring them home from the store. No matter how you wash it, over time it will become worn and gray. Bleach available in stores can help, but even they can’t remove sweat stains, let alone other dirt, and they’re also expensive.
That is why it is worth looking for alternative solutions, which in many cases are more effective than commercially available whitening agents, which also contain benzene, a rather dangerous substance. By the way, such products can also cause allergic skin reactions , which cause a sensation of itching and irritation, especially if we expose ourselves to the sun with bleached clothes.
The whitening solutions below are much less harmful and protect not only our health, but also our environment.
Aspirin
The medicine not only reduces headaches, but if you dissolve it in water and rub it on yellowish sweat stains, you can get rid of them. Of course we should only use white aspirin, because colored pills can leave colored stains on clothes.
Dissolve 5 white aspirins in a little water, then apply the solution to the stained areas, rub and leave to act for 15 minutes. It can then be placed in the washing machine, where it can be washed on a normal programme.
Sodium bicarbonate
Dissolve a cup of baking soda in 4 liters of water and soak your white clothes in it. After half an hour, all the textile pieces will be bright white.
