My name is Danièle (name changed) and I am a 61-year-old woman. 30 years ago, I met a man who, at the time, seemed like a “good catch.” He was stable, hard-working, and wanted to start a family. I was afraid of ending up alone, without children and without love, so I committed to him. Maybe I shouldn’t have.
Over time, I realized that I didn’t really love him. I didn’t feel that thrill, that excitement, that crazy desire to spend time with him. Despite everything, I stayed with him. I was already invested in the relationship and I didn’t want to lose everything.
“I WAS NEVER ABLE TO OPEN UP TO HIM”
Years went by and we had two children, which gave me a lot of happiness, but I never became truly happy. My husband and I had like separate lives, we didn’t share the same interests and we didn’t have much in common. I was never able to open up to him and tell him about my feelings.
