I love to make large quantities of this and use it all summer long.

Building Blocks
Crushed pineapple, one cup
A half cup of sweet chili sauce
Spoonfuls of soy sauce;
Rice vinegar, one teaspoon
3/4 cup of brown sugar
freshly grated ginger, 1 teaspoon
minced clove of garlic
As a hotter alternative, you may add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
Guidelines
Start by combining the crushed pineapple, brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sweet chili sauce in a medium-sized saucepan.
Stir in the minced ginger and garlic, then mix everything together well.
Third, bring the mixture to a gentle boil in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Fourth, after the sauce boils, reduce heat to simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, or until sauce thickens to your liking.
5. For an extra kick of flavor, add red pepper flakes while cooking.
6. Allow the sauce to cool slightly after removing it from the burner before serving.
Advice and Changes
If you want things on the hotter side, feel free to add a bit extra red pepper flakes or spicy sauce. If you like a more robust flavor, you may want to try adding a little bit of sesame oil. The sauce may need a little more acidity, so try squeezing in more lime juice. Instead of brown sugar, you may use honey or agave syrup. Just be cautious not to eat too much sugar.
