How can I use salt with a mop? Firstly, it's important to mention that you should never leave the mop in a bucket of dirty water. This can cause a lot of bacteria to grow, along with a bad smell.

Some people use bleach or baking soda for cleaning, but we recommend using salt instead. This cheap and very useful solution seems almost like magic. Just put a spoonful of salt on the mop, pour about a liter of water into the bucket, and leave it for an hour.

For many years, people have used coarse salt to clean and disinfect surfaces and objects. Actually, when salt and water mix, they create a quick osmotic action that kills bacteria very quickly.

Different solutions

To wash the mop, as we have already said, there are other ways. For instance, some people add lemon juice and salt to the water when soaking rags and mops for a few hours.

Some people like to use baking soda and salt together. Others prefer infusions and oils like tea tree oil. It is a special solution that kills bacteria and quickly gets rid of bad smells. Just keep doing the same thing, pour the liquid into the bucket, and let it sit for at least an hour.
