Propagating lavender has never been easier: If you want to plant it along your fence, for example, don’t spend unnecessarily on seedlings and try these proven methods!

1. Take softwood cuttings in late spring or early summer.
2. Remove lower leaves, dip cut end in rooting hormone, and plant in well-draining soil.
3. Keep cuttings moist and provide indirect sunlight until roots develop.
4. Take hardwood cuttings in late summer or early fall.
5. Follow the same process as softwood cuttings but use a gritty soil mix.
