The Problem with Antique Silverware
Over time, silverware can lose its luster and become dull. Many people think that there’s no way to restore it to its former glory. But here’s where aluminum foil comes to the rescue!
How to Restore Your Silverware
- Fill a pan with hot water and add a spoonful of sodium bicarbonate and a half-spoon of sugar. Mix well.
- Cut a sheet of aluminum foil in half and then divide those halves into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
- Once the water is boiling, drop the aluminum foil balls into the pan.
- Submerge your old silverware in the pan and let it soak for ten minutes. Watch as the magic happens!
- After ten minutes, remove the silverware from the pan and give it a wash with soap and water. Dry it off, and voila! Your silverware will look almost as good as new.
