To get the veggies ready, finely slice the cucumbers and onions.

Second, make the marinade— In a small bowl, whisk together the dry oregano, dried basil, sugar (if used), salt, pepper, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and garlic powder (if using).
3. Mix and let marinate.
Combine the cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions in a big basin. After you've drizzled the marinade over the veggies, toss them to coat them well.
Put the bowl in the fridge for at least an hour to let the flavors to combine. The most effective marinating time is many hours or perhaps overnight.
Just before serving, give the mixture a little toss. Top with fresh parsley or basil if you want.
