As winter gets closer, lots of people use space heaters to keep themselves warm. Firefighters are warning people not to connect space heaters to power strips.

Umatilla County Fire District #1 in Oregon advises against plugging a heater into a power strip. These devices cannot support the strong electric current that space heaters need, which can cause them to get too hot or even start fires.
