How to Use Bay Leaves to Repel Bugs
Identify Problem Areas: Locate the areas in your home where you’ve seen the most roach activity. Common places include the kitchen, bathroom, and dark, damp areas like basements and under sinks.
Prepare the Leaves: Crush a few bay leaves to release their natural oils. You can also use whole leaves, but crushing them will make them more effective.
Distribute the Leaves: Place the crushed or whole bay leaves in small piles around the problem areas. Focus on corners, under appliances, inside cabinets, and along baseboards.
Refresh Regularly: Replace the leaves every few weeks to maintain their effectiveness. As the leaves dry out, their potency diminishes, so keeping them fresh is key.
Additional Measures: For an extra layer of protection, you can make a bay leaf spray. Boil a handful of bay leaves in water, let the mixture cool, and pour it into a spray bottle. Use this to spray areas where you’ve seen roach activity.
