If you’re a frequent or occasional tea drinker, you’ll be happy to know that you can add used tea bags to your bucket list . Here are a few ways to reuse them.
Add a touch of flavor to rice or cereal . Place a tea bag in the cooking water to give food an extra touch of flavor. We suggest pairing jasmine tea with rice and chai tea with oats.
Protect your plants from fungi . Boil a used tea bag and use the liquid to water your plants. This will help prevent fungus from forming.
Neutralize odors . Pour the dry contents of used tea bags into odor-prone areas of the house, such as the cat litter box or the bottom of garbage cans. Place a couple of used, dry tea bags in your shoes when you’re not using them.
Cleaning the fireplace . If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace at home, sprinkle the contents of several used tea bags into the ash to weigh it down before sweeping out the inside of the fireplace.
