The 6 Herbs You Can Grow in Water and Keep at Home for a Whole Year

Here’s how to grow plants in water: first, cut some twigs from a buried plant. Choose the youngest ones, with a soft texture and delicate colors. The length should be about 15 cm. Remove the leaves closest to the base, to allow the roots to spread and prevent the water from getting moldy.

Put the twigs in a container such as a jar, a glass bottle or even a plastic one: cover the part at the height of the roots with a strip of paper or a piece of cloth. The shade thus created will prevent the formation of algae on the bottom and on the roots, which should never be exposed to direct light.

Choose a container with a narrow neck, so as to support the twig more easily, but avoid those that are too narrow, which would not allow the roots to “breathe” properly.

First, change the water once a week: after the formation of white roots in the water, that is, after 2 to 6 weeks, you will not need to change it.
