Steps to Preserve Eggs
Choose the Right Eggs:
Use farm-fresh eggs with unwashed, intact shells. The natural bloom on the shell acts as a barrier against bacteria.
Prepare the Lime Solution:
Mix 1 part pickling lime with 4 parts water. For example, 1 cup of lime to 4 cups of water. Stir until the lime is dissolved.
Place Eggs in the Jar:
Carefully place the eggs into the jar or container. Ensure they are not cracked or damaged.
Pour the Lime Solution Over the Eggs:
Pour the prepared lime water into the jar, ensuring all the eggs are fully submerged.
