This $2 bill was considered "unlucky" or "ugly to use in cash exchanges" for most of its existence, according to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP).
Superstitious people attempted to reverse the curse by tearing off the corners of the bills, which turned them into "mutilated currency unfit for reissue," as the BEP put it.
But there are $2 bills that could be worth thousands of dollars.

The $2 bill features Jefferson's likeness, but a number of changes have been made to the bill, both on the front and back, including the size of the photo, its positioning, and the addition of colors.
