In the first case, remove the shower head connected to the hose. You'll see a small rubber washer; set it aside while cleaning so you don't lose it. This element is very important; it ensures a seal between the shower head and the pipe. Place the apple in a bucket or bowl and cover it half with white vinegar and half with hot water. If possible, leave it to soak for an hour (no more than 30 minutes if the knob is made of brass, as it could be irreparably damaged). Remove the shower head and rinse it with clean water. If limescale remains, scrub it lightly with a toothbrush; it should come off very easily. Dry the knob with a microfiber cloth and reattach it to the pipe, remembering the rubber washer.

If the shower head is wall-mounted, you don't need to disassemble it. There's a simple solution to descaling it with white vinegar. Find a plastic bag large enough to hold the knob. Fill the plastic bag halfway with white vinegar. Place the bag around the knob so that the vinegar is well absorbed. Secure the bag with the rubber bands. Let the product sit for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinse it off before wiping it with a dry cloth.
