The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall from TreeHouse Foods affecting approximately 93 types of frozen waffles. These products were sold throughout the United States and Canada at major retailers including Target, Walmart, and numerous other grocery chains.
What Caused the Recall?
TreeHouse Foods products were found to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. Listeria infection can be particularly serious for pregnant women, people over 65, and individuals with weakened immune systems, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Although no illnesses have been confirmed in connection with the recalled frozen waffles, the FDA is actively monitoring the situation.

These frozen waffles come in various flavors and packaging sizes, and they were sold at stores including Walmart, Target, and other grocery chains across the U.S. and Canada.
To check if your waffles are part of the recall, look for the UPC on the back of the carton, as well as the Lot Code and Best By Date on the end of the carton. If they match the details provided by the FDA in their recall announcement, the product should not be consumed.
