Introduction: Keeping your washing machine clean is essential for maintaining fresh, clean laundry. Over time, detergent buildup, dirt, and grime can accumulate inside the drum, leading to musty smells and less effective washing. But don’t worry – cleaning your washing machine doesn’t have to be a lengthy or complicated process. With this quick method, you can clean your washing machine in just a few minutes, ensuring your laundry smells fresh and stays spotless!
Ingredients:
2 cups of white vinegar
1/2 cup of baking soda
A clean microfiber cloth or sponge
Directions:
Empty the Washing Machine: Start by ensuring there are no clothes inside the washing machine.
Vinegar Cycle: Pour 2 cups of white vinegar directly into the drum of the washing machine. Vinegar helps break down soap scum and mineral deposits, leaving the machine smelling fresh.
Baking Soda Boost: Add 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drum as well. The baking soda will work in tandem with the vinegar to neutralize odors and help clean away any lingering dirt.
Run a Hot Wash: Set the washing machine to the hottest and longest cycle. This will allow the vinegar and baking soda to clean the drum thoroughly.
Wipe Down: Once the cycle is complete, use a microfiber cloth or sponge to wipe down the interior of the drum, the door seal, and the area around the detergent drawer. Pay attention to any spots that may have visible grime.
Leave the Door Open: After cleaning, leave the washing machine door open for a while to let it air out. This helps prevent mold or mildew from forming inside.
