Step 3: Add the Filling
Spread the softened butter evenly over the rolled-out dough. Leave a small border around the edges to help seal the rolls later.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the buttered dough. Gently press the filling into the dough to ensure it sticks.
Step 4: Roll and Slice
Starting from the longer side of the rectangle, tightly roll up the dough like a jelly roll. Pinch the seam closed to seal.
Using a sharp knife or dental floss, slice the log into 1-inch pieces. Each piece will form one cinnamon roll.
Step 5: Bake
Place the sliced rolls into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan, leaving a little space between each roll.
Cover the pan with plastic wrap or a clean towel and let the rolls rise at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This step helps them become extra fluffy!
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once risen, bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Step 6: Drizzle the Glaze
While the rolls are cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a smooth glaze. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or sugar as needed.
Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm cinnamon rolls for an irresistible finishing touch.
Tips for Success
Use Ripe Bananas : Overripe bananas are sweeter and easier to mash, which enhances the flavor of the rolls.
Donāt Overfill : When spreading the butter and cinnamon-sugar mixture, leave enough room along the edges to prevent leaks during baking.
Experiment with Add-Ins : Fold chopped walnuts, pecans, or mini chocolate chips into the filling for added texture and flavor.
