Effective remedies for smelly laundry after washing

[rotated_ad]

Very often we use too little   detergent in the washing machine  because we believe that this will make the laundry wash better or smell better.

Oh, I forgot! If you like these nature tips, I can send them to you daily via WhatsApp! Subscribe to my channel! I’m waiting for you!

Nothing could be further from the truth! In fact,   our laundry really stinks  when we put too much detergent in the washing machine drawer. And you can tell   when you take it out of the washing machine   and it has that classic smell of a lock, even when it’s still damp  , especially black clothes or sportswear.

Despite spinning and rinsing,   detergent residues   remain, which often cause   unpleasant odors in the washing machine  . Furthermore, the fiber may feel almost “foamy” to the touch, even though it hasn’t been completely rinsed.

We recommend always using an environmentally friendly detergent.   However, it’s important not to overuse detergent  . Follow the instructions to add the correct amount for each wash.

You can find this and other tips in this   video   :

No to short wash cycles

A very useful tip to keep your laundry  smelling good after washing in the   washing machine is    to avoid short wash cycles , if possible of course.

with good washing performance in the washing machine

A short wash cycle does not always result in optimal cleaning, as the fibers are not completely “degreased” and washed and there is a greater likelihood   that they will  still   smell after washing  .

Choosing the right temperature

Maintaining   lower temperatures   doesn’t always make our   laundry   smell better  . In fact, sometimes it’s the exact opposite!

Of course, the underwear or clothing to be disinfected must be washed at high temperatures  to remove all traces of dirt and bacteria.

We always read the washing labels  . Keeping the  temperature at an average of 40°C  helps keep our laundry clean and fragrant.  The situation may be different  with towels  ; here are some helpful tips:

Use immediately

Let’s not forget: To prevent   clothes from smelling   (even after washing at 90 degrees), they must be   removed from the   washing machine drum immediately and hung up in the fresh air.

how to stroke Panni to stop stirring

This little trick also lets us   store rags so we don’t have to iron them  . If they stay in the drum too long, the moisture created during washing inevitably gets trapped between the fibers, causing that unbearable odor.

Let’s   air out our clothes! And let them   dry completely  before putting them away in the closet, otherwise all that effort will have been in vain.

Use baking powder

To remove unpleasant odors from laundry  , we can’t help but   use a little baking soda with every wash.   Baking soda   is an inexpensive and useful product for solving minor household problems.

Bicarbonate washing machine

Half a cup is sufficient per wash  . It   inhibits odors  , helps   remove stains from laundry,   and   enhances its natural whiteness  .

Clean the washing machine

Maybe we were careful and followed these tips exactly, but our laundry still smells bad! If this happens,   the problem lies with the washing machine  . Here are some very useful vacuum cleaners for this purpose:

As you might have guessed, it needs cleaning   to remove limescale,   dirt, and detergent residue. Regularly run an   idle wash cycle at high temperature  to keep your washing machine looking like new!

But how can we achieve this using   homemade and natural methods   ?   Citric acid   can certainly help!

This compound, obtained from citrus fruits, has   limescale-dissolving, cleaning and detergent properties and is therefore also   useful  in dishwashers .

Dissolve 150 g in 1 liter of hot water  . Then pour everything into the washing machine drum. You can also pour the liquid onto a towel and wash it to prolong the effect.

Alternatively, you can   use vinegar   (1 liter). You can choose between   white  vinegar   and apple cider vinegar, which is gentler.

Vinegar and   citric acid   also have   softening properties     You can use them to wash clothes, saving money and avoiding chemical detergents. But most importantly, you’ll no longer wonder   why dark clothes smell after the washing machine  .

Why does laundry smell unpleasant in the washing machine?

If laundry smells unpleasant in the washing machine, there can be various reasons for this, but most of all it is due to mistakes made during washing, such as using too much detergent or overfilling the drum.

How do you get fragrant laundry?

Try adding a small cup of vinegar to each load of laundry instead of fabric softener. Vinegar softens clothes and imparts a natural scent.

Why do clothes smell bad when drying?

If laundry smells unpleasant when drying, it is often due to a washing error: too much detergent or too low a temperature.
