Remove stains with baking soda
If you have a particularly old mattress, it will probably also be stained. Moisture and dirt can cause dark stains that are difficult to remove. Below we explain how to remove them with baking soda.
Mix 1 part baking soda with 2 parts cold water.
Apply to mattress stains and leave to act for 30 minutes.
Use a damp cloth to remove the baking soda and then let it dry thoroughly, preferably in sunlight.
Finally, vacuum to remove all the baking soda residue.
How to Clean and Disinfect a Mattress with Vinegar
If there are sweat or pee stains on the mattress, it is advisable to use vinegar to clean and disinfect it thoroughly.
Dampen a clean cloth with water and liquid soap.
Fill a bucket with 2 parts warm water and 1 part white vinegar, then rub directly on the stains.
Let it dry well.
Vinegar helps eliminate mold and bacteria.
