Even if the ants are not yet present, it is always a good idea to check for any cracks or other spaces that could act as an entry point.
Then you can eliminate the ants that are already inside the house with a sponge soaked in soap and water. Only eliminate the ants that are already inside, those that are outside are very useful for balancing the presence of other insects.
Another effective trick is to keep the plants in the garden or on the balcony at a safe distance from the front door of our house. If you have a garden with a lawn, move the plants away from it.
To attract ants and therefore be able to eliminate them easily, put food capable of attracting ants in closed containers (for example sugar, honey or dog food).
If you have pets, place their food container on a plate full of water: this will prevent the ants from reaching our best friend’s meal.
Eliminate all food and drink residues, even the outside of containers and glasses. Make sure there are no crumbs, food remains or grease stains on the ground.
Put some Vaseline along the edges of the garbage can: this sticky barrier will prevent the ants from invading it.
