Never buy batteries again! Discover this brilliant home hack to save money

[rotated_ad]
Tired of having to run to the store to buy batteries every time they die? Me too. Until one day I discovered a hack that truly changed the way I use my remotes. And the best part? It’s simple, inexpensive, and incredibly satisfying to do yourself.

The battery puzzle: a small problem, a real budget

You know that moment: you’re settling down on the couch, ready to start your favorite movie… and your remote refuses to respond. Once again, the batteries are dead. Between the TV, the  fan , and the kids’ toys, those little batteries add up to a  surprising expense  without us even realizing it.

So, instead of buying  yet another pack of batteries , why not… replace them  permanently  ?

A homemade trick for a rechargeable remote control

The solution is surprisingly simple. Here’s what you need to turn your standard remote control into a rechargeable device:

  • A small rechargeable battery  (3.7V lithium type, such as a 14500 or equivalent)
  • A USB charging module  (type TP4056, easy to find on online sales sites)
  • A diode  (e.g. a 1N4007)  to adjust the voltage if needed
  • A little patience…  and that’s it!

The idea is to remove the standard batteries and solder the battery wires in their place. You add a small  micro-USB or USB-C port  to the case (on the back, for example), and your remote control becomes rechargeable  like a smartphone .  Convenient, right?

And for the more curious: the Bluetooth version

Want to take things a step further? It’s even possible to convert a remote control into a  Bluetooth-connected device . This option requires a bit more skill: you’ll need to integrate a  microcontroller  (like an ESP32) and  completely reprogram the circuit .

This is another adventure, ideal if you like  electronics and DIY . But if you just want to do away with batteries, the first solution is more than enough.

A small gesture for you, a real step for the planet
