Rub half a lemon on the inside of the glass. Apply some pressure, but be careful not to break the glass. The lemon will help soften the limescale.
Immediately after, sprinkle some salt on the inside surface of the glass. You will also have to rub vigorously with salt, but delicately. The salt will further remove the limescale.
This very effective trick may take a few minutes to be fully effective. Once you are done, wash the glass with water and dish soap.
Other effective tricks against white patina on glasses
To get a similar result to the trick described above, you can also use baking soda. Pour two generous tablespoons of baking soda, a tablespoon of salt and add hot water into the glass. Wait 30 minutes.
The solution will dissolve the limescale deposited on the surface of the glass. Finally, wash with water and detergent.
Another trick is to prepare a solution of white vinegar and water, in equal parts. Immerse the glasses in the solution and let them soak for a couple of hours.
Now that you know how to remove the white patina from cloudy glasses , try applying one of the tricks described above to make them look like new again.
