Baking soda and hot vinegar:
Generously sprinkle baking soda on the burnt bottom of the pan. Heat white vinegar in a saucepan until hot (but not boiling). Pour the hot vinegar over the baking soda in the burnt pan. You will see an effervescent reaction occur, which will help loosen the burnt residue.
Leave to act for approximately 30 minutes for the chemical reaction to take effect. Then, gently scrub the back of the pan with a sponge or non-abrasive brush to remove burnt spots. The baking soda and vinegar will act as a gentle, natural cleaner to dissolve burnt residue without damaging the pan.
Once the back of the pan is clean, rinse it thoroughly with hot water to remove any baking soda and vinegar residue. You can then wash the pan as normal with dishwashing liquid to make it sparkling and ready to use again.
White vinegar and salt:
Pour a good amount of white vinegar onto the burnt bottom of the pan, so as to cover the entire burnt surface. Then sprinkle a generous layer of salt over the vinegar.
Leave the vinegar and salt on for about an hour. The vinegar will act as a degreasing agent and help loosen burned residue, while the salt will act as a mild abrasive to remove stains.
After letting it sit, use a sponge or brush to gently scrub the back of the pan. You should notice that the burnt residue comes off more easily thanks to the action of the vinegar and salt.
Once most of the burnt residue has been removed, rinse the pan well with hot water to remove any excess vinegar and salt.
If burnt spots persist, you can repeat the process or try scrubbing the pan with a paste of baking soda and water, using a soft sponge. The baking soda will act as a gentle cleanser and help remove stubborn stains.
