Burnt pots can be a real nightmare to clean, and often the situation is so serious that it seems beyond repair. Luckily, with the right methods and products, these pots can be restored to their original shine. Follow the steps below to effectively clean a burnt pot and make it look like new.

Cleaning a Burnt Pot
To begin, gather the necessary equipment: you will first need a larger pot that you can immerse the burnt pot in.

Make sure that the larger pot is large enough to hold the entire burnt pot. You will also need water, washing powder, a potato, salt, yeast, baking soda, 240-grit sandpaper, running water, liquid detergent and a sponge.

First, fill the larger pot with water. Place the burnt pot inside the larger pot and fill that with water as well. Make sure there is enough water to completely cover the burnt pot.

Now turn on the stove: place the largest pot on the lit stove and let the water come to a boil. The hot water will help to soften the burnt deposits on the pot.

Once this is done, add the washing powder. Once the water reaches the boiling point, add some washing powder directly to the burnt pot. This will help to break down the deposits and remove them more easily. Let it sit for the necessary time, perhaps a few hours.

Polishing the burnt deposits with potato paste
While the burnt deposits are softening, let’s prepare the definitive remedy to degrease even the residues present on your burnt pot. It is an all-natural degreasing paste, made from potatoes.

In a separate bowl, grate a potato and add salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix the ingredients well until you have your polishing paste. Now, remove the burnt pot: carefully, take it out of the boiling water. Make sure to protect your hands with gloves or pot holders to avoid burning yourself.

Now empty the water and detergent from the pot. You will notice that the pot will already be cleaner thanks to the boiling process with detergent. It is time to apply the polishing paste. Take a spoonful of the potato polishing paste prepared earlier and distribute it on the inside of the pot.
