How to Restore a Burnt Pot to Its Former Shine

If you’ve ever left a pot on the stove for too long and ended up with a burnt bottom, don’t panic! With a simple method using common kitchen ingredients, your pot can be restored to its shiny, like-new condition.

Burnt Pot Bottom After a Kitchen “Accident”
To tackle the burnt residue, mix equal parts baking soda and white vinegar (a 1:1 ratio). Place the mixture in the pot and heat it on low for about 15 minutes, or until the liquid has evaporated. Be sure to keep the heat very low to avoid damaging the pot.

Once the mixture has evaporated, turn off the heat and add a small amount of cold water to the pot. This will help loosen any remaining baking soda residue from the bottom.

Next, use a soft sponge to gently scrub away the softened burnt areas. The burnt marks will come off easily with minimal effort, and you won’t risk scratching or damaging the surface of the pot.
