Vaping: Study finds deadly side effects – heart disease, organ failure, dementia

For years, e-cigarettes have been touted as a less harmful alternative to tobacco. However, British researchers have just thrown a spanner in the works: according to their initial findings, vaping could have health effects just as alarming as those of tobacco. So, should we be worried?

Intensive use and substances with unknown effects

Unlike traditional cigarettes, which are lit and then extinguished, vaping is often used continuously, sometimes without even realizing it. Some vapers take puffs throughout the day, increasing their exposure to chemicals in the vapor. These include artificial flavors, solvents such as propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, and metals from the device's resistors. The long-term impact of these compounds remains largely unknown.
