How to Disinfect and Sanitize a Mattress

[rotated_ad]

Cleaning and disinfecting a mattress may seem like a daunting task, but it really isn’t at all if you apply the right methods. You can clean and sanitize your mattress, eliminating mites and stains, quickly and with ingredients that you probably already have at home.

Having a clean mattress is very important for our health. Mites and bacteria that accumulate on the mattress are in constant contact with our skin, and sometimes we even end up inhaling them which is harmful for those who suffer from diseases such as asthma or allergies.

To clean a mattress thoroughly, you don’t need a vacuum cleaner. Perform a deep manual cleaning using DIY products at least twice a year. Follow these simple steps to do this.

Remove bedspreads and sheets and shake the mattress to remove any debris that has accumulated.
Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with one liter of cold water until it foams.
Apply the foam to the mattress and rub with a sponge over the entire surface, especially on stains.
Let the mattress dry, if possible, in the sun, or use a hairdryer.
